The Uttarakhand Judicial Service Examination is conducted by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) for the recruitment of civil judges in the Uttarakhand State Judiciary. The exam is held in three stages - Preliminary, Main, and Interview. Eligibility criteria for the Uttarakhand Judicial Service Examination include:
Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 22 to 35 years of age as on 1st January of the year in which the notification for the exam is released. Age relaxation is applicable for certain categories.
The syllabus for the Uttarakhand Judicial Service Examination includes: Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination consists of objective type questions on General Knowledge, Law, and Reasoning. The duration of the exam is three hours, and the maximum marks are 200. Main Examination: The main examination consists of five papers - Civil Law-I, Civil Law-II, Criminal Law, English Language, and Hindi Language. The duration of each paper is three hours, and the maximum marks for each paper are 200.
Interview: The interview carries a maximum of 100 marks.
Candidates who qualify all three stages of the exam are selected for the post of civil judge in the Uttarakhand State Judiciary.
